ANDAZ, MAUI

Workspace11 worked with the Rockwell Group to design, engineer, and fabricate the signature spiral staircase in the main lobby of the Andaz Maui.

Inspired by the internal structure of a nautilus shell, the free-floating stair was fabricated from cold-molded white oak using traditional boatbuilding techniques. The internal frame of curved CNC-formed steel tubing supports a curved glass guardrail with custom-machined bronze brackets, combining organic form with structural precision.
