POWERHOUSE ARTS

Workspace11 collaborated with Powerhouse Arts, Herzog & de Meuron Architects, and UAG Group on the redevelopment of the historic 1904 Brooklyn Rapid Transit Power Station, just down the Gowanus Canal from our studio.

Reimagining a 115-year-old industrial landmark as a modern production facility, the project preserved, restored, and reconstructed critical architectural elements of the original power station. Workspace11’s fabrication and engineering expertise helped retain the building’s industrial character while integrating advanced systems and materials that support contemporary art and fabrication practices.
