Collaborating closely with museums, public institutions, and individual artists, We blend traditional craftsmanship with advanced production techniques to deliver precision-engineered, fabrication-ready solutions. From concept to installation, Workspace11 ensures material integrity, structural performance, and seamless execution for every project.
Rooted in materials, form, and function, OUr Architectural work is defined by meticulous attention to detail, texture, and finish. Combining traditional techniques like blacksmithing and casting with advanced technologies including CNC machining, 3D printing, and in-house 5-axis waterjet cutting, Workspace11 delivers engineered, value-driven solutions. From early design through installation, our team ensures seamless integration, precision fabrication, and expert execution across all project phases.
In addition to custom fabrication, Workspace11 produces a line of edition works, including furniture, lighting fixtures, and sculptural objects. these pieces reflect our studio’s dedication to form, function, and craftsmanship. Available for purchase, our edition works offer collectors, designers, and institutions access to unique, limited-run designs that bridge the worlds of art, architecture, and industrial design.
The WORKS Artist-in-Residence Program is a non-profit, project-based initiative that supports early and mid-career artists by providing access to Workspace11’s large-scale metal fabrication facility at the Powerhouse Arts Building in Brooklyn. Situated within an active architectural metals workshop, the residency offers expert technical support and unique resources to help artists realize ambitious creative projects. Committed to fostering global collaboration, WORKS brings together artists from around the world to promote cross-cultural exchange and creative dialogue.

Workspace11 was founded in 2000 by sculptor Norman Mooney and glass artist ruth shortt as a facility to realize ambitious sculptural and architectural projects in both metal and glass.
